Join Mormon Life Hacker and others at the 2018 BYU Church History Symposium, Thursday and Friday, March 1 and 2. Bishop Gérald Caussé, Presiding Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be a keynote speaker. The theme of the symposium is “Financing Faith: The Intersection of Business and Religion.”
The symposium begins at 9:00 AM on Thursday, March 1, at BYU’s Conference Center auditorium in Provo. The conference will explore topics such as the law of consecration, Mormonism and banking, and United Orders. Presentations continue until 3:30 PM. There will be a plenary address on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM in BYU’s Conference Center auditorium, given by Dr. Sharon Murphy of Providence College.
On Friday, March 2, the conference will continue at the LDS Conference Center Little Theater in Salt Lake City, beginning at 9:00 AM. Speakers will focus on the Relief Society and economics, the gathering of converts, and counting the cost of the Utah War. Bishop Gérald Caussé will offer the keynote address at 10:45 Friday morning.
