As you may be aware, Google is retiring the Works with Nest program and allowing customers to move their Nest account to a Google account.
If you choose to move to a Google account, there are additional steps you will need to complete in order to continue using Alexa for voice control of Nest devices. After migrating your Nest account to a Google account, follow the below instructions to enable the new Google Nest skill and relink Alexa to your Nest devices.
1.Β Β Β Log into the Alexa app
2.Β Β Β Navigate to the βDevicesβ page by clicking the icon in the bottom right corner and delete any Nest devices. 3.Β Β Β Search for the new skill by searching for βGoogle Nestβ in the βSkills & Gamesβ section of your Alexa app, or click:Β https://skills-store.amazon.com/deeplink/dp/B07VGB4TWP
4.Β Β Β Enable the skill and link your Google Account to Alexa
5.Β Β Β Discover devices by saying βAlexa, discover my devicesβ or manually add the devices in the Alexa app.
Note that after you have re-added your devices, you may need to rename your devices to your preferred device names and re-create any groups or routines that you previously had made.
