HEART OF AFRICA opened very well considering all that is happening in the world.
The film faced limited showtimes due to theaters tightening their hours of operation.
We appreciate the extra precautions the theaters are taking to clean and sanitize the seats, concession areas, doors, ticketing centers, restrooms, etc. They are limiting the number of attendees per screening and allowing for open seating in some theaters.
The film also faced capped ticket sales per performance and have the ongoing fear of people not wanting to congregate and communally screen a film.
However, the film did wonderfully well its opening weekend at the box office.
A historic day for both Congolese and American film, HEART OF AFRICA was the #9 highest grossing Foreign Film in the US, the #1 highest grossing foreign film in Utah and outperformed Oscar Award Winning Best Picture Parasite.
