Hey guys, hope you’re enjoying the newest original music video that I just released, titled Artificial Tears!! Okay, so Artificial Tears…. what does that even MEAN?!
Other than finding the title on a contact solution bottle , artificial tears describes an important principle that has literally CHANGED and BLESSED my life.
To me, the word artificial describes the unrealistic, sometimes fake, views that we place on the world. It’s the reactive mindset that everyone and everything is out to get us, causing us to place the blame and fault on everything but ourselves.
GUYS, listen for a second: A friend group walking into a restaurant without inviting me does NOT mean that they don’t love me. Maybe they don’t remember my number or wanted to catch up with friends they hadn’t seen in awhile.
A guy asking another girl out does not mean that he doesn’t find me attractive as well. Maybe he’s too intimidated by how amazing I am.
A director giving another actor the lead role does not mean that he/she doesn’t find me talented. Maybe I got the lead role in the last show.
Unfortunately, we often place the worst on others, which is so unfair and not always true for them!! This principle plagues even the best of us, but when we learn that we need to take a proactive stance on our life, then our tears will no longer be artificial.
We’ll start crossing bridges when we come to them and not expect the worst from others. Our tears/sadness become as real as we make them.
The outside world won’t change, and people may sometimes treat us poorly or misunderstand us, but as we view the world proactively and seek the best in everyone, then we will find greater success, less significant road blocks and more realistic emotions.
This song was a whirlwind of emotions for me, but I enjoyed every second of producing it and putting my insecurities out through audible/visual arts.
Please comment below if you’d like to add any thoughts to this concept. Thank you for your support and hope you enjoy this video.

LYRICS
Have I ever told you what’s goin through my head
Cause something bout waiting leaves me on a thread
I’m anxious to tell you
But I’m waiting to let loose
Peer pressure weighing on me like mental abuse
Waiting
But it’s staying
It’s scaring me
To make up this reality
Cause everything you do makes artificial tears
And I count on you to develop my new fears
Nobody’s hurtin me I’m just hurtin myself because of what I pretend you say
Though you don’t mean it, all I see are artificial tears
Na na na na na na x6
Who knows why I do it
I choose to feel extra pain
And as I go through it
I locate the ways to blame
I’m nervous to break through
Cause I place false charges on you
Nothing makes sense for me so I gotta
Open
The moments
Of peaceful play
And stop waiting on you
Cause everything you do makes artificial tears
And I count on you to develop my new fears
Nobody’s hurtin me I’m just hurtin myself because of what I pretend you say
Though you don’t mean it, all I see are artificial tears
Na na na na na na x6
It’s no fair
The way that I treat you
I’m sorry
Cause all I like to choose are artificial tears
And I’m the only one who’s making up my fears
Nobody’s hurtin me I’m just hurtin myself because of my own brain
Cause you don’t mean it, and you don’t make my artificial tears
