Mitch and Tatum Whiting shared their experience at the Giving Machines NWA with us, and it so perfectly describes what the Giving Machines are all about.
Last night we spent $1,465 in a vending machine and it was the most Christmas magic I’ve felt in a long time.
Normally our family gives in secret
(We all know it’s better that way)But I have to tell you about this
because it was life changing!Have you seen these Giving Machines?!
They are in 13 countries and 33 US states! We found out about a “secret” code you can type in “777” that allows you to buy every single item in the machine.
One by one they drop down to be donated to a local charity in your own city
Rice cooker
Birthday gift
10 healthy meals
Diapers and wipes
Counseling sessions
Backpack & supplies
Cooking classes
PB&J sandwich
Safe shelter
Mattress
BeehiveThe list goes on and on.
We even bought a goat!
(This one goes international instead of local)As each gift dropped I watched my children’s eyes light up.
(Especially during the highly anticipated drop of the PB&J sandwich 😂)
And my heart felt like it would burst.
A few minutes after we gave to the Giving Machine, my 5 year old wanted to give again.
But this time with money of his own.
He had saved $21 in the “Give” section of his piggy bank from from his businesses this year selling “Magic Jam” and “Heavenly Hot Cocoa”
He chose to give pajamas, PB&J and 10 healthy meals—a few of his favorite things.
Here’s my message:
Give give give! Giving is one of the most fulfilling
and beautiful ways you can spend your
money in your short time here on planet Earth. It’s scary at first to be generous.
But you NEVER ever ever regret it.Ps.
Thank you to the Light The World campaign for inviting us for a special VIP Preview last night and for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for creating this incredible machine. We feel so blessed to have one in our town!
