βIt was one of the first songs written for this project, and I felt like the woman in the relationship is the hopeful one while the guy is really negative,β says Archuleta. βIt seems like a lot of times itβs harder for guys to stay committed to something whereas women usually are the ones who keep pulling through to the end.β
“Seasons” was co-written by Stephanie Mabey (Meet the Mormons fans, do you remember “Glorious?” She wrote it.) and Dustin Christensen.
Archuleta discussed the message behind the song:
βWhenΒ the seasons change in our lives itβs harder to stay motivated to say you know we had a beautiful time in our life. We had a beautiful spring and summer, but now the fall is coming, and I donβt want to go to your winter again,β he says. βBut the woman is able to endure longer, and Madilyneβs voice is saying you know what? Winter is coming, and itβs hard, but spring comes after that, and if we stick through it we will be able to see the blooming of our lives again, and I know if we hang in there itβs going to be ok.β
Madilyn expressed her thoughts on David and this collaboration.
βI have so much respect for him and look up to him a lot. Iβve looked up to him since βIdolβ because he did that a few years before I did βThe Voice.β So heβs definitely been an example to me. He was the talk of the town, for sure, and to do a collaboration and feel like weβre supporting each otherβ¦itβs nice.β
What is next for David in 2018?
βI donβt know where Iβm going next,β he laughs. βEver since βAmerican Idol,β I have no idea where Iβm going to go, but, Iβve enjoyed it. Iβm always up for an adventure.β
