I recently saw these videos that experiment with finding a new way to let the Book of Mormon speak for itself. These brief vignettes show current-day settings for verses from the Book of Mormon. The videos were filmed in Australia—and you can easily sense that the Book of Mormon is true in “Aussie” as well as in every other language.
These 30-second spots are obviously designed to interest people in finding out more about what is in the Book of Mormon. Brief as they are, and with the very few words quoted, one can feel, or begin to feel, the power of the Book of Mormon. For me, the power comes in using the actual words of this incomparable book of scripture.
The power of the exposition of gospel principles in the Book of Mormon enlightens our understanding of the Bible and other scripture. Our appreciation of the Bible grows. As prophesied, the Bible and Book of Mormon “grow together, unto the confounding of false doctrines and laying down of contentions” (2 Nephi 3:12).
