BUY TICKETS to TREK: the movie NOW!
TREK is directed by Alan Peterson from a screenplay written by Jon Enos and David Howard, the writer behind the hit film Galaxy Quest. Inspired by the authentic experiences of real Mormon teenagers, TREK follows Tom, a young Mormon, and his friends on their βMormon cosplayβ reenactment of a pioneer handcart journey. Along the way, Tom and crew try to smuggle in unsanctioned food, battle sibling rivalry, encounter a βspecial opsβ Young Men’s leader, and match wits with a Twinkie-loving skunk. But, when Tom and his friends encounter unexpected trouble, they face personal tests much like their pioneer ancestors.
What viewers will take away from the film, however, is up to them according to Peterson. βI canβt wait for audiences to see the entire film,β he said. βHopefully the trailer will whet their appetites and get them excited to see TREK next spring.β
βWe couldnβt be more excited for people to see the trailer,β said Arthur VanWagenen, director of Excel Entertainment. βThe trailer gives a great taste of this funny and poignant film. TREK is definitely not the typical Mormon-genre film. It tells a thoroughly modern coming-of-age tale of teenagers becoming modern day pioneers.β
