Happy Public Domain Day! 🎉
Every year on January 1st, many old books enter the public domain due to copyright expiration. Today, works published in the United States in 1927 became public domain.
This is an exciting year for Latter-day Saint hymnophiles, because “Latter-day Saint Hymns,” which was the main hymnal of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints two generations back from the current hymnal, was first published in 1927!
To celebrate, we scanned the hymnal, along with a few other 1927 songbooks,* and uploaded them to the Internet Archive so anyone can access them. You can find them here:
