Kirtland Temple construction began almost two centuries ago

And . . .

we continue to build temples today!

On June 1, 1833, Joseph Smith received an important revelation. The Lord told him to build a temple in Kirtland, Ohio! It was the first temple constructed with priesthood authority in these latter days.¹

We keep building temples in the Church today. In the most recent general conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced that new temples will be built in the locations below.²
