“We are Black History” | Jamal Willis, the former 49er in the NFL, and his wife Leslie Willis embarked on a heartfelt journey to create a video that celebrates unity and resilience

Their inspiration struck after their daughter faced hurtful racial remarks during a high school basketball game. In response, they rallied the community to join them in crafting a visual masterpiece that tells the story of strength and endurance.

The theme, “We are Black History,” embodies the indomitable spirit of our ancestors. Despite the challenges they endured, they smiled through adversity, refusing to let ignorance hold them back. They are the embodiment of our greatest dreams.

I’m grateful to the Willis family for allowing me to be part of this uplifting project. It’s essential for our children to know that they are never alone, surrounded by a community that values and honors each individual.

Together, we stand as an inclusive community, welcoming everyone with open arms. Let’s unite, love, and protect one another, setting an example of Christ-like behavior for all.
