Elder Soares’ message emphasized the profound blessings and transformative power available to individuals through their faithful participation in temple ordinances and their commitment to living in accordance with sacred covenants.

Elder Ulisses Soares, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, delivered a message titled “Covenant Confidence through Jesus Christ” during the Saturday morning session of the April 2024 general conference. He explored the significance of having confidence in covenants made with the Lord, particularly in the context of the temple.

In his #GeneralConference address, Elder Soares emphasized the concept of “covenant confidence through Jesus Christ,” which entails trusting in the quiet yet certain assurance of receiving the promised blessings from God for faithfully keeping covenants. He highlighted the importance of this confidence, especially amidst the challenging circumstances of today.

Elder Soares explained that this elevated level of confidence is attained through making and honoring sacred covenants with the Lord in the temple. Such confidence strengthens individuals to overcome doubt, despair, and trials, ultimately fortifying their connection with God and deepening their gratitude for Jesus Christ and His sacrifice.

He stressed that humility, righteous living, and faithful covenant-keeping are essential components in gaining confidence through Jesus Christ. Elder Soares emphasized the importance of spiritual preparation before attending the temple, noting that this preparation is a continual process for all individuals, not just first-time temple attendees.

Moreover, Elder Soares highlighted the ongoing construction of temples as a source of excitement, inspiration, and blessings for the Church. He noted that as Latter-day Saints enhance their preparation to enter the temple, their temple experiences will be transformed, leading to personal transformation outside of the temple as well.
