We Have Waited for Him
Isaiah 13-14; 24-30; 35 | September 12-18
Israel was being scattered during Isaiah’s lifetime. He warned them of the destruction that was coming because of their wickedness, but he also offered hope. He prophesied about the gathering of scattered Israel in the last days and about the restoration of the gospel, saying, “Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit,” (Isaiah 27:6) and, “I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder.” (Isaiah 29:14)
Isaiah also prophesied about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. His message warns us of the destruction that will come to the wicked in the last days and describes the joy of those who wait for the Lord. Isaiah taught that all men will be resurrected because of Jesus Christ.
Isaiah’s words were written on the brass plates that Nephi and his brothers brought from Jerusalem. They were quoted by Nephi and other prophets to help us build our faith in Jesus Christ and in God’s plan for us.

Quote
“It’s all in the holy scriptures, and of all the great events of the history of the world, as far as the prophets have foretold, the greatest is the preparation for the coming of the Savior in the latter days, when He will come in power and great glory, with all the holy angels, as King of kings and Lord of lords.” LeGrand RichardsGET THE FULL LESSON >
