Mormons love Disney. And, according to Deseret News, Mormons also love “Beauty and the Beast.”
As you probably know, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” opens soon, and is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs.
In a nutshell, the movie follows the journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
Some principal actors in the film include: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; and Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle. You will definitely see other actors you recognize, know, and love.
Some cool fan-made videos have resulted, like this comparison of the animated BEAUTY AND THE BEAST trailer in 1991 and the 2017 BEAUTY AND THE BEAST live action trailer of 2017.
At MLH, we think some of the most compelling covers have been created by LDS artists like Lexi Walker, Vocal Point, Claire Ryann and the Crosbys, Jennifer Thomas, Working with Lemons, and Lindsey Stirling.

You forgot LDS artist Jennifer Thomas’s cover of “Beauty and the Beast”, featuring cellist Armen Ksajikian. (Who was on the original Beauty and the Beast soundtrack)
