Participate in the Greater Love Initiative for Easter 2025
For Easter 2025, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is emphasizing the literal Resurrection of Jesus Christ through the Greater Love initiative, inspired by John 15:13:
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
This Easter season, all members are invited to share messages about the Resurrection and invite friends to worship with us. The initiative will start to crescendo in mid-February and continue throughout Holy Week and Easter Sunday.
The Focus of Easter
The First Presidency has encouraged all members to reflect on the reality of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which makes the universal resurrection possible. This message was introduced in President Russell M. Nelson’s New Year’s Day social media post, referencing The Living Christ: A Proclamation to the World.
How You Can Participate
1. Share the Message of Christ’s Greater Love
- Follow official Church social media accounts and share posts and videos about the Resurrection.
- Use Christ-centered language when discussing Easter with friends.
- Look for additional content from the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and share it with others.
2. Invite Others to Worship
- Personally invite friends to attend special Easter Sunday or Palm Sunday services in your local congregation.
- Create invitations using your stake or ward name.
- Stake communication councils can coordinate efforts with priesthood leaders and ward councils to encourage invitations.
3. Promote Easter Services in Your Community
- Work with stake leaders to display banners outside meetinghouses (where appropriate) with information about Easter services.
- Consider reaching out to local opinion leaders to invite them to attend.
