God makes it easy for us to follow him by giving us commandments. Following the commandments can lead us to happiness. We certainly are not perfect, but God has given us a way to be forgiven of our sins through the atonement of Jesus Christ.
Where did we come from? Why are we here on earth? And where do we go after we die? We’ve all asked these questions hoping to discover the purpose of life. Mormons—more properly referred to as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—believe that God has a plan for us. It’s called the plan of salvation, and it contains the answers to life’s questions. Jesus Christ is the central figure in God’s plan.
We can be different and still be together. We can be kind. We can be patient. We can not judge. We can forgive over and over again because we don’t have to be the same to be one. We are all God’s children.
Crucifixion was one of the most dreaded and painful forms of execution in ancient times. Yet, because almost all depictions of Jesus on the cross were painted centuries later, our image of the death of Christ is in many ways incorrect.
