This May 4, on National Day of Prayer, Skylight will celebrate the significant role that prayer plays in daily American life by releasing the results of a new nationwide survey.

Perhaps the most in-depth survey of its kind on prayer ever conducted, these findings explore the methods and motives behind prayer, its ubiquity across generations, and emerging trends among young adults.

Most of us—an incredible 180 million Americans—pray every day. We pray in homes, cars, cubicles, and cafés using beads, rugs, candles, essential oils, and other spiritual tools.

But as ubiquitous as prayer may be, it’s also largely invisible.
