Teach All Nations

Matthew 28; Mark 16; Luke 24; John 20-21
June 26 – July 2

Jesus Christ was resurrected. That means that after He had died, He rose again, and His perfected body was reunited with His spirit. As a testimony of His sacrifice for us, He still has the marks in his hands, feet, and side.

After Jesus was resurrected, He visited his disciples. At first they were afraid, but Jesus showed them the prints in His hands and feet, and ate with them. He had risen from the dead, just as He said He would.

Jesus said, “Feed my sheep” (John 21:16) Jesus wanted to make sure that each one of His sheep, or followers, was loved and cared for. Jesus needed someone to feed His sheep, that is, to care for others and to teach them about the gospel when He was no longer with them. He asked His disciples who loved Him to do this.

Jesus sacrificed and suffered much for us to bring to pass the Atonement. He loves us very much. We can show our love for Him by keeping His commandments, caring for others, and teaching others about His love and sacrifice.

Scripture

Mark 16:15

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Questions

  • Who saw Jesus after He was resurrected?
  • What did the Savior ask His disciples to do?
  • How can we help the Savior feed His sheep?

Quote

“Do we really understand the teachings of the Savior, “feed my sheep”? Feeding the lambs could well be missionary labors working with newly baptized members. Feeding the sheep could well refer to some less active, who need to be cared for and brought back to the flock. That one who was lost need not have become lost.”
Robert D. Hales
