In the concluding session of the October 2024 General Conference on Sunday afternoon, President Russell M. Nelson delivered a very touching message about the key work done in temples, and then announced the construction of 17 new temples (most not in the United States).
His words emphasized the importance of these sacred buildings and the blessings they bring to individuals and families worldwide.
As The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continues to grow, these new temples will offer more opportunities for members to draw closer to God, make sacred covenants, and experience the peace and power that comes from temple worship.
This latest announcement from President Nelson serves as a testament to the Church’s ongoing commitment to sharing the joy of the gospel and expanding access to holy spaces where members can worship and receive sacred ordinances. The addition of these new temples will further extend the reach of the gospel to people around the world.
