When a Christmas miracle grabs her attention, editor’s assistant Hope Jensen sees an opportunity to earn her first byline as a reporter. But when she’s forced to choose between her first byline or finding a family, she realizes that her priorities have changed.

Based on the bestselling novel by Jason F. Wright, it tells the story of reporter Hope, who uncovers the remarkable secret behind the “Christmas Jars” – glass jars filled with coins and bills anonymously left for people in need.

“‘Christmas Jars’ is a phenomenon with a reach far beyond that of a typical novel, as it created a new tradition that has changed many lives over the years,” said Michael Dunn, managing director of BYUtv. “It is exactly the kind of uplifting story that we want to be part of at BYUtv, and we hope that this film will bring families together each holiday season and inspire them to start ‘Christmas Jars’ of their own.”

The Christmas Jar tradition is based on the 2005 New York Times bestselling novel by Jason Wright.

A Christmas Jar is simply a pickle jar, peanut butter jar, Mason jar or anything else you have to collect spare change each day.

All coins are dedicated to the jar all year long.

During the week before Christmas you carefully select someone to give it to anonymously.

Simply put your jar on their porch, in their car, on their desk — wherever — and you could change their life for good!

$50, $100, even $200, you’ll be surprised how much change you can generate and how much you can impact someone’s life.

Dove.org reviewed the film. Take a look!

As Christmas Jars is one of my favorite books of all time, it’s no surprise that the wholesome family film based on the story is Dove-Approved for All Ages, for everyone, everywhere. Whether you need a jolt of Christmas cheer or a reminder that your Christian generosity should be an earmark of your faith year-round, the film will “bring all the feels.
