Evie Clair, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently turned 12 and she is little by little introducing her unique gift of music and vocal skills to the world. Her angelic voice has already captured the hearts of many adoring fans.

She is a singer, songwriter, arranger, and musician. She began developing her piano playing and vocal skills at the young age of two. Since then, she has gained recognition by winning several talent competitions that have helped open new doors of opportunity and increase her fan base.

Evie won a singing contest to solo on the soundtrack for Once I Was a Beehive where she performs the song “Together.”  You can watch her audition video here.  She had the opportunity to perform the song live for the official movie premiere. Maclain Nelson, writer and director of Once I Was a Beehive, commented, “We just couldn’t believe what we were hearing. This amazing voice coming out of this 12-year-old girl, it was mind-blowing.” Evie also has an original song called “For You” that is also featured on the movie soundtrack. She commented, “It has been so exciting to be a part of this whole project. I can’t wait for people to hear these songs.”

Accompanied by Sara Arkell (known on YouTube as The Piano Gal), Evie also sang a 2016 LDS Mutual Theme song called “Press Forward with a Steadfastness in Christ.”

She joined YouTube, where she publishes her music videos, on 15 May 2014, and as of December 2015, she has amassed 530 subscribers and 64,990 views. Her latest video, a beautiful rendition of the Christmas song “Mary, Did You Know?” was published on her YouTube channel on Wednesday, 9 December 2015, and is in response to an invitation by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to participate in the #ASaviorIsBorn initiative with a special Christmas video sponsored by Mormon.org. Well-known YouTuber, Peter Hollens, who also recorded a rendition of “Mary, Did You Know?” commented on Twitter about Evie’s rendition by stating, “Love it Evie. Nice Work!” Evie posted the following comment on her Facebook page on 11 December, “What an honor. I can’t take much credit for this voice I’ve been blessed with, but I’ll be so happy if I have some part to play in helping hearts heal and feel through this gift.”

At such a young age, Evie is a very gifted young person with aspirations of succeeding in the music business. She got her public start at the age of 8 playing the role of Molly in “Anne” at Hale Theater. Some of her other noteworthy achievements include performing the National Anthem at a Diamondbacks game, releasing two original pop singles, winning in her category at the 2014 Arizona’s Rockin’ with Talent, and receiving one of three Judges Choice Awards in a world-wide contest for her cover of “Glorious.” She also recorded with Rob Gardner for the soundtrack of “Cokeville Miracle” and recorded as a soloist on an album produced by Arizona Golden Rule Educational Experiences called “Stars Shine Brightly.” She also enjoyed opening for the world-famous Duttons and working with classmates to create a music video promoting kindness and forgiveness.
