When things don’t go as planned, they might be blessings in disguise.
“Last February, I experienced a flight cancellation from Sydney due to an aircraft malfunction. The airport, which has a curfew from 11 PM to 6 AM, had already closed, leaving us as the last passengers in the terminal. We went through immigration again, collected our luggage, and received Uber vouchers to go home.
While most passengers were understandably grumpy, I felt grateful that the issue was identified before we boarded. This situation exemplifies the Burnt Toast Theory: sometimes, delays or disruptions protect us from greater harm. For instance, burning your toast in the morning might delay you just enough to avoid an accident or help you meet someone significant.
I believe that if you get what you want, it’s divine direction; if not, it’s divine protection.
Even if you don’t understand why things happen, trust that they are for your greater good.
So, when things don’t go your way, remember that you might be redirected to something bigger to make you better.”
