Wisdom can sometimes be found in the most unexpected places, wrote Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Elder Uchtdorf opened the new year by sharing wisdom in a fortune cookie.
Here’s what Elder Uchtdorf and other leaders posted on social media to help brighten our 2023.
Happy New Year!
We sometimes find wisdom in unexpected places. I recently received a fortune cookie that read, “Tomorrow will be an important day for you.” What a great motto for our lives!
It caused me to think that we make tomorrow an important day by making today important. Today is yesterday’s tomorrow, and today is tomorrow’s yesterday.
Don’t wait for tomorrow to make changes you want to see in your life now. Every day is a new beginning. Turn to Jesus Christ today. Repent today. Seek the Spirit more in your life today. Every day is a new opportunity to grow from the past and to create an even better future centered on following Jesus Christ. We need to live so that tomorrow we are happy about our today—which is then our yesterday.
A new year is a time for fresh starts and exciting goals. I invite you to create a better tomorrow today. And if you put the Savior at the center of it all, He will guide you toward a tomorrow better than you can possibly imagine.
