“A clean desk is a sign of cluttered desk drawer.”

We all live behind a veneer. Some have thicker veneers than others, but rarely do we project our true and authentic selves publicly to others. At times, we all hide behind a curtain of smiles.

For example, a frustrated employee may still try her/his best to perform at a high level but is in tatters because of not getting enough appreciation, recognition, or validation.

A once-wealthy may still try to project that she/he is living comfortably with no problems but is actually thinking about how to pay the mortgage and save a broken family.

So, be kind to everyone you meet because you never know what battles people are fighting behind their veneer and curtain of smiles.
