I was thinking about stop being a member of the church. Then any time I would hear a talk from him I knew I couldn’t because I knew it was true. He was a true leader just like all the other leaders of the church.

I love President Monson and could think of a lot of things to say. But a few are how he was strict on following the spirit. Which came from not following one time when he was a Bishop and someone was in the hospital. He got there to late and the person had already died. I try to do that as well because many opportunities can be missed by not following the spirit. Also I loved how he told everyone to do service on his birthday in place of presents. I think that happened more then once in recent years.

Ok, a few thoughts about President Monson. I am so deeply grateful for his example and his leadership. He truly cares about each one of those he met and those he’d never meet. On one occasion, I met him. It was at a funeral and he made an effort to shake hands with all who were In attendance. As he shook my hand and looked at me, I could tell that all he saw was goodness. Although it was only a very brief moment, it left a lasting impression on me. He took the time to shake hand among the hundreds in attendance. His gaze was how I imagine meeting the Saviour will be. Only love, no judgment. I never had met the deceased, it was his dear friend’s wife, yet he made me feel like I was the most important person there. All of the stories about him and his life are examples of what Christ would want us to be. If I could be 1/10th The man he was, I will feel like I accomplished much. Thank you for your service and life and love President Monson.

love the stories he told of his youth..and that he was not perfect . That we all have times in our lives when we do something wrong and have to admit it..
Growing up he had lessons to learn just as we all do..I loved it when he told these personal stories..I also loved it when he quoted his favorite poems..It was the warm side that we saw..and loved.Thank you for sharing him with us..for as long as he was with us..What a joy to be able to be with him daily ..as a friend..and as a person who was able to work in the same arena..We will miss him and his warm smile..remember him wiggling his ears…as he told the story of the little boy on the front row..loved it..

I will always remember his talk where he spoke on the attitude of gratitude. Also ill never forget his amazing stories, like when he set the grass on fire or wiggled his ears. He always had some amazing story to tell with his talks.

I have a special letter that Pres. Monson took the time out of his busy life to reply to me. It brought tears to my eyes as I held his letter as I felt the spirit so strong with his words of wisdom and kindness . I hold this so dear to my heart. What a kind gentle spiritual giant.

The very day I was baptized, I met President Monson.

He was speaking at a fireside, and after his talk, he stood in a reception line to shake everyone’s hand. I was in awe of the man.

One could tell, by the feeling you got when you stood by him, that you were in the presense of a man who talked with God.

One of the Missionaries in front of me told President Monson that I had been baptized a few hours before.

He took my hand, shook it, and said, “We are very happy to have you as a new member.”

He was a gentle, soft-spoken man. He will be missed.

A prophet for all members young and old, when President Monson wiggled his ears.That is a special memory as I was a teacher in Primary the children all tried for weeks to wriggle their ears

I have always been inspired by President Monson’s ability to be available to the Lord to do his work in what ever circumstances he found himself. He was ardent in following the promptings of the Spirit to go and give blessings and visit those in need. He impacted so many on a personal level. I have a picture of him above my desk with the words “Never, never, never postpone a prompting.”

President Monson has been the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator for most of my memory. Even though I never met him, he seemed to be a friend, and was a comfort to me whenever he spoke at conferences.I remember attending my first General conference a couple years back, it was the last session or one of the sessions on Sunday, and sadly I didn’t get to hear President Monson speak in person. But as he walked out and waved towards the crowd, there was this feeling of friendliness about him that confirmed basically what I had always felt about him seeing through the TV screen, of seeing the friendliness of the man who wiggled his ears in front of a million plus people. His teachings shall remain with me always.

In his first conference address as President of the Church, President Monson invited us as members to ask ourselves each day this simple question: “What have I done for someone today?” That question has been displayed on my desk ever since and has been a guide in my every-day life.

My favorite President Monson quote that goes along with that: “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it, but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. I believe the Savior is telling us that unless we lose ourselves in service to others, there is little purpose to our own lives. Those who live only for themselves eventually shrivel up and figuratively lose their lives, while those who lose themselves in service to others grow and flourish–and in effect save their lives.”

As a Primary President,Seminary Teacher and Young Women leader the most valuable experience that President Monson share it was when he was a kid and his teacher called him Tommy, she saw the light in that kid and give him the opportunity to grow in faith.So, this experience touch my humble heart when I read about it when I was a new convert and then when I became leader I just tried to do the same with every kid,every youth and even during my missionary days I just tried to feel the same that his teacher feels and believe me I not just feel love for those that I serve but I give them the love and the opportunity to serve and my eyes saw so many miracles just for think how will the life of this son of God could change if he feels that someone loves him.So Tommy is always in my mind.

When he announced the age change for missionaries it caused me to stop questioning if I should serve a mission. And sent a bolt of truth and a determination to serve now.

I loved seeing his bright, smiling face and when he wiggled his ears. One of my favorite talks that he gave was the short, simple talk about the Book of Mormon: “…I implore each of us to prayerfully study and ponder the Book of Mormon each day. As we do so, we will be in a position to hear the voice of the Spirit, to resist temptation, to overcome doubt and fear, and to receive heaven’s help in our lives.” You will be greatly missed, dear prophet.

My favorite memory is when he told the story about the little boy in a congregation he presided over copying his sitting position while on the stand. He then decided to wiggle his ears to see if the boy could do it too. Makes me feel of his great spirit.

I fondly remember hearing him speak in general conference when I was 10 years old. I loved his talks. I loved how he knew the scriptures so well. He also took quotes from other authors like C.S Lewis and many others. I enjoyed his literary references and how he was able to incorporate them in his talks. He was a kind and thoughtful person. Always going out of his way to help and comfort others around him. His words and testimony helped me to develop and strengthen my testimony.

“Never let a problem to be solved be more important than a person to loved” this quote has been such a blessing in my life. Thank you for teaching me this beautiful concept.

I was employed by the Deseret Industries in Pocatello, Idaho, in the 1990’s. I was a single mother at the time, and trying to work to provide for my children. While employed there, I was under the supervision of a middle aged man, who desired to share with me his experiences while growing up in Salt Lake City. He shared with me fond memories of his boyhood, while recalling the difficulties of motherhood that his mother faced, as she struggled to raise her small family alone without a husband. I will never forget how my soul yearned to return to work, each day, to receive stories from this man, about his experience while in the care of a loving Bishop and Home Teacher, Thomas S. Monson. I would hear, with love in his voice, about the times when Bishop Monson would drop by his home, in Salt Lake City, with a bag of groceries, and how the visit would turn into game playing time, for the young family. I felt the love from Thomas S Monson, through this brother, while he shared his boyhood memories.
Since that time, I have cherished in my memory, the sweet examples of love, service and charity that I heard during my working hours from that wonderful brother, and the stories that Thomas S Monson has shared with the world, as our dear Apostle and President, Prophet and example of Jesus Christ through his devotion to service and love. I will always remember him as that humble servant who sought for and served the one, which was a whole church, and World.

I loved his humor and how he used his experiences to teach the Gospel. His sweet spirit shown through his laughter and smiles. The love he had for all people was evident in how he lived his life. A great example to live the gospel principles.My favorite memory was in conference referencing the book of Mormon ” If you haven’t read it, read it.” Through his still small voice that pierced your soul, I knew he was the Lord’s Prophet.

I have only been a member for a short time, President Monson has been an inspiration for me. Whenever he gave a talk it was as if he was talking to me and helping me through hard times. Will miss him but know he is with his Frances.

President Monson was always a funny man, and he so loved not only the Saints of the church, but everyone he came into contact with. This however is cliche as everyonewho knows him, knows this. However, things for me are a bit more personal with him. I’ve never met Pres. Monson in person, but he has made quite an impact on me. Not long before he was ordained Prophet, I was truly becoming aware of who people were in the Presidency. I’d watch Gorden B. Hinkley talk, and when he passed, and Monson became Prophet, I had no idea who he was. How could I love someone I didn’t know. I would watch him during conference and get to know what a giant he really was. I grew to love the man. This is a testimony to me, because in extension, How could I love the Savior, truly Love him, if I don’t know him. So I set out to know him, and like Pres. Monson, I have grown to Love my Savior, but even more than that; I have grown to trust my Savior.
