Organize Talks & Devotionals In iTunes

Here’s a short (2:11) video that shows you an easy way to organize talks & devotionals in iTunes. It gets them out of your main music library, makes them easy to find, and groups them by conference session or event type.

Do you have another way that you use to organize talks, etc.?

  1. Cool video. Thanks for posting. I do similar things with other audio files. Are yours downloaded from LDS.org, or are yours pulled from the Conference CDs/DVDs? The ones I download offline occasionally revert my renamed files back to their original file names… drives me nuts. Do you know anything about that?

  2. Swwwwweeeeettttt!

I used this on some audiobooks downloaded as podacsts. Worked great. Thanks for the lifehack.

  3. Hey Q!

I did as you said, and that was fantastic. Sure looks better. However, now I am unable to sync my new audiobooks onto my iphone. I tried creating a playlist just for the audiobooks, and nothing worked.

    Any tips?

Thanks muchly! Keep up the great work!

  4. I tried doing this for the scriptures. And it was great until I put the them on my Ipod. On my Ipod in audio books all the chapters of all the books are organized together alphabetically, beginning with acts 1, and not by book, old testament, new testament, etc. is there a way to fix this?

    1. There should be a way to tell your iPod to sort by album and track number. Did you keep each book of scripture separate? With OT being one BoM another, NT another, etc? To keep them as separate "books" in iTunes, you'll want to give each its own album. This will keep them separate on your iPod. Then you'll just need to tell your iPod to sort by track number. If its a newer one, you should be able to do it on the iPod itself. If its older, just sort by track in iTunes, then sync, that should correct your problem. Thanks.
