Ancestry.com is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the civil war, by making all their Civil War records available for FREE, from April 7th through the 14th.

From a promotional email:

Starting next Thursday, April 7th and running through the following Thursday April 14th, Ancestry.com will be featuring a weeklong promotion to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the beginning of the U.S. Civil War. As part of the promotion, we will be offeringΒ Free Access to all Civil War records during the promotion!

This means that without the usual paid membership, you’ll be able to use any and all records from the Civil War. I’m posting this Wed. (the 6th), and as of yet there doesn’t seem to be any more information on their site. So what all records they have, I’m not sure. But whatever it is, you’ll be able to access them for free, starting tomorrow. So head over to Ancestry.com and check it out.

Let us know if you find anything in those Civil War records, or any others at Ancestry, for that matter.
